Matthew graduated from the University of Aberdeen in July 2025 with a Joint Honours (BSc) in Physics and Computer Science.
His BSc project focussed on image reconstruction using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and comparing results between different CNN architectures and loss functions.
He started his PhD with the group in October 2025.
Primarily working on fabricating and designing novel freeform optical fibres for high power delivery using Axi-Stack.
